We own it.
When a job requires a 55-foot bucket truck, a digger derrick, a conductor puller, and a specialty off-road pole setter — McDonough Electric shows up with all of it. No subcontracted equipment, no waiting on a rental yard, no added markup. Our fleet is our competitive advantage.
Every truck in the McDonough fleet runs on a cohesive platform of International 4300 and 7300 series chassis — standardized for parts commonality, maintenance efficiency, and a professional field presence that clients notice. The green and white livery on every truck isn't just branding. It's a standard.
Eighteen 55-foot Altec and Terex bucket trucks form the core of the McDonough line fleet — all mounted on International chassis, all maintained to utility-grade standards.
The machine that goes
where trucks can't.
McDonough Electric operates a purpose-built specialty pole setting machine that no standard derrick truck can replicate. A CAT 299D2 XHP skid steer fitted with a Pengo RT9 auger drive unit and an EZ Spot pole setter attachment gives us the ability to dig and set poles up to 45-foot Class 2 in locations completely inaccessible to conventional line equipment.
Backyards. Tight urban corridors. Steep terrain. Rocky sites. Locations where every other contractor says no — we say yes.
